Terroir and wine-making

The Frappato Vittoria della Vigna di Pettineo is the result of the best selection of Frappato grapes that, since the seventeenth century, testify to their presence in the territory of Vittoria, an area particularly suitable for the production of fine Sicilian wines. It is a Sicily DOC wine produced with the best grapes, selected by hand, from vines raised in tree. The vinification involves a maceration of 7 days with the grape marc and a fermentation phase at controlled temperature. After that the wine is refined for 1 month in steel and 3 months in bottle. It acquires its pleasant character that satisfies the most demanding tastes.

Notes of taste

The Frappato Vittoria shows a bright cherry red color with violet shades. The nose gives hints of berries that immediately invite to taste. Finally, on the palate it reveals the strength of fresh tannins that give the wine an extraordinary pleasantness and a remarkable elegance.

Wine at the table

At the table, Frappato Vittoria DOC is an extremely versatile red wine, one of the few that can be paired with fish without losing its flavours. Among the recommended combinations we find the Sicilian bluefin tuna, fish soup, cous cous, fish stew and also a rich board of cold cuts.

The Frappato Vittoria Vigna di Pettineo is produced with organic methods that preserve, without altering them, the valuable natural characteristics of the Sicilian grape. The wine is part of the family collection of the winery of Vittoria.
