Terroir and wine-making
The Grillo Spumante brut from Feudo di Santa Tresa is made with only grapes from the autochthonous vine grown in the historic estate of the winery. The vines grow on a sandy soil with a calcareous base. The natural quality of the grapes is such that they can be processed organically without altering their valuable characteristics. Grillo sparkling wine is produced with the Charmat method. The cultivation and vinification in respect of nature is a plus of the company that raises its wine to symbol of a unique territorial heritage.
Notes of taste
The fine and sweet bubbles of the Santa Tresa Cricket have a straw yellow color with golden reflections. They give off fresh fruity scents enriched with citrus and floral hints. The freshness of this sparkling wine is confirmed on the palate, where it is well balanced, sweet and soft.
Wine at the table
The Grillo di Santa Tresa is a brut sparkling wine ideal as an aperitif, but it also goes perfectly with seafood dishes, especially shellfish.
Curiosity
Grillo grapes are grown in the vineyards of the Feudo di Santa Tresa, located in the municipality of Vittoria, an area of Sicily very famous for its wines. The vineyards of the property date back to the 18th century and today cover about 50 hectares of land. Production is limited in order to preserve quality at the expense of quantity.
