Terroir and wine making

Syrah Sicilia DOC organic Bdp Y di Baglio di Pianetto is made with grapes that grow in the renowned terroir of Noto, in the province of Syracuse, at 50 meters above sea level on a medium-textured soil tending to sandy and calcareous. The vines are raised with espalier and spurred cord. Immediately after the manual harvest, the winegrowers of the winery carry out a sorting of the grapes that will be subjected to destemming and light crushing, after which the fermentation in steel at a controlled temperature with traditional techniques of fulling and reassembly. The wine ages 14 months in steel and another 3 in bottle.

Taste notes

Syrah Sicilia DOC Bdp Y takes on a clear and consistent ruby red color enriched with purple reflections. The nose releases an intense and fine aroma of fruits such as raspberry and red berries and spices. The palate is dry and savory, with a good persistence and a good body supported by elegant tannins.

Wine at the table

Ideal with the classic pappardelle with game sauce, the Sicilian red wine Bdp Y by Baglio di Pianetto perfectly combines all meat dishes, in particular the cut of beef with arugula and grana. Service temperature is 16 ºC.
