Terroir and wine making

The Nero d'Avola del Donnatà grapes of Alessandro di Camporeale are cultivated at 380 meters above sea level, on a clay soil rich in limestone and potassium. The Alessandro family cultivates its vineyards with a system of espalier breeding with spurred cordon. The organic methods applied in the production of this red wine Sicilia DOC exalt the precious natural qualities of the grapes.

Taste notes

The typical intense ruby red color of Nero d'Avola Donnatà anticipates the complex scents of plum, pomegranate, cherry, dried figs and nutmeg. On the palate shows its excellent structure and its ubiquitous balance with delicate tannins and a right acidity and flavor.

Wine at the table

Donnatà di Alessandro di Camporeale combines with different dishes of Mediterranean cuisine. Recommended pairing with anelletti baked in Palermo or with tuna steak.

Curiosity

The Nero d'Avola Alessandro di Camporeale takes its name from the appellation that in the family gave at Christmas, calling it don Natale and then the sicula Don Natà.
