Terroir and wine-making
The Cerasuolo di Vittoria Classico Cos is a Sicilian red wine obtained from the blend of grapes Frappato di Vittoria and Nero d'Avola in regulated percentages. It is produced in the area of the province of Ragusa and in parts of the provinces of Caltanissetta and Catania, an area of ancient wine making vocation, where high quality wines are produced. Cos winery has been operating in this area since before the DOCG was recognized and has always been aware of the potential of this wine. Applying organic farming methods and innovative production techniques, it has succeeded in creating a high quality product without contamination, pure to the core.
Notes of taste
With an intense dark red colour, the wine Cerasuolo di Vittoria Cos diffuses complex aromas of red fruits, pepper and tobacco, with slight hints of vanilla and faded rose. On the palate it is soft and balanced, with a medium body and a remarkably pleasant freshness. The finish is persistent.
