Terroir and wine-making

The vineyards of Tenuta Rapitalà are located between 300 and 600 meters above sea level: on clay soils grow vines of Nero d'Avola and Pinot Noir bred in Guyot. Nuhar is the result of a process that begins with the harvest of grapes that have matured and are vinified in steel containers. The long maceration takes place at a controlled temperature and gives the wine the best polyphenolic components. The aging continues in steel for the Nero d'Avola and in French oak barrels for the Pinot Noir for about 9 months, after which the wine is refined in bottle.

Notes of taste

The Nuhar of Tenuta Rapitalà takes a bright ruby red color and smells of dried fruit and syrup. It wraps its palate with all its warmth and fullness. A wine with a harmonious and elegant overall finish, with a long and persistent aftertaste where the typical aromas of Pinot Noir are present.

Wine at the table

Nuhar Tenuta Rapitalà is perfect with roasts of red meat, dishes with truffles and game. Excellent also with cold cuts and cheeses. In general we recommend the pairing with dishes with a strong taste that can withstand the character of the wine. The recommended service temperature is 18-20°C.

Curiosity

The name Nuhar comes from the Arabic language and means 'flower'. Also the name of the winery is of Arabic origin: Rapitalà is derived from the Arabic word that indicates the stream that flows through the vineyards.
