Terroir and wine-making

From a careful selection of Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, Addamanera Poggio di Bortolone is born, a Terre Siciliane IGT wine produced in the Chiaramonte Gulfi area, in the province of Ragusa. Here, on the soils of medium-sized dough tending to sandy, grow vines bred with a system of spiked cord.

The grapes ferment in contact with the skins at a controlled temperature of 25°C for 12 days. The wine is then harvested by malolactic fermentation and aged for 18 months in stainless steel barrels. Finally, the wine is aged in bottle for about 4 months.

Notes of taste

With a rich red color enriched in violet nuances, Addamanera is characterized by its intense notes of fruit and green pepper, typical of Cabernet, to which is added the classic hint of black pepper from Syrah. On the palate, the taste is soft and enveloping and the structure clear and persistent.

Wine at the table

Addamanera is the ideal companion for dinner with a combination of roast meat and medium-aged cheeses. It should be served at a temperature of 15-17°C.

Curiosity

Poggio di Bortolone is a century old reality that takes life already in the eighteenth century. Since then it has been passed down from generation to generation until today, managing to preserve a noble tradition like that of wine.
