Terroir and wine-making

The red wine Angheli from Donnafugata is a wine with a versatile and intriguing character, embracing with its international taste and with a great balance between structure and pleasantness. From the wall-trellis with pruning in a stalked cord and franco-clay soils, the harvest of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon Sicilia Doc grapes begins, in South-Western Sicily, in the territory of Casale Bianco.

After a careful selection of the grapes with a mechanized waste of green and overripe bunches, begins the period of fermentation in steel with maceration on the skins for almost two weeks; It follows a 12-month aging in French barriques and a long rest of 18 months in bottle.

Notes of taste

Angheli Donnafugata offers in the glass an intense ruby red with a fragrant bouquet of notes of red fruit, caressed by balsamic scents and hints of green pepper and cocoa. On the palate it offers a silky tannin, an excellent persistence and a charming structure.

Wine at the table

To taste the best Angheli Sicilian red and enhance all its scents, we recommend a combination with grilled meat, chicken and roast duck, pasta with ragout and rich chutney. To be enjoyed freshly uncorked in a wide glass at a temperature between 16 and 18 °C.
