Terroir and wine-making

The Tenuta Regaleali di Tasca d'Almerita houses the vineyards of Cabernet Sauvignon that the Sicilian winery has been growing for some time, aware that the sandy soil, The silt and clay that characterizes the hill of San Francesco at 600 meters above sea level was ideal to welcome the international vine that has found its favorite home there. The wine is aged for 18 months in new barriques. The first Cabernet Sauvignon Tasca d'Almerita was made in 1985 and has since been one of the main labels of the winery.

Notes of taste

Austere and elegant, the Cabernet Sauvignon Contea di Sclafani DOC has an intense ruby red color with garnet textures. Offers a varietal bouquet with aromas of berries, vanilla, black pepper, tobacco, cinnamon and spices. Balanced and soft on the palate, confirms with greater intensity the fruit notes and lies on a long and elegant finish.

Curiosity

Count Lucio Tasca was the first to see the potential that Cabernet Sauvignon would express in the Sicilian terroir, which is why he has long insisted on the enhancement of the vine in foreign lands. Thus, in 1988, the official authorization was finally granted.
