Terroir and wine-making

In the vineyards of the Tenuta di Contessa Entellina, in south-western Sicily, the Nero d'Avola grapes grow luxuriant, essence of this pleasant red wine Sicilia DOC. The vinification process begins with fermentation in steel with maceration in contact with the skins for about 6-8 days at a temperature of 24-25° C. It ends with aging for 2 months in tanks and 5 months in bottles.

Notes of taste

Sherazade has a bright ruby red color with violet hues and soft aromas of cherry and red plum in harmony with spicy notes of black pepper. On the palate it is juicy and enveloping in its balanced and fresh taste, vaguely acidic and delicately tannic.

Wine at the table

Sherazade is the perfect companion for convivial occasions with friends. A Sicilia DOC red wine that enhances pasta dishes with sauce and tasty fish soups. The recommended serving temperature is 16-18° C.

Curiosity

The name of this wine is inspired by the famous protagonist of 'Mille e una notte', which tells engaging and colorful stories, such as the design on the label commissioned by Donnafugata to Stefano Vitale to visually represent the qualities of the Sicilian red.
