Terrorism and wine-making

The Planeta Plumbago is a firm red, a pure Sicilian Nero d'Avola. It comes from the vineyards around Lake Arancio, giving us an excellent fruity and soft version of this island specialty. The soil from which it rises is predominantly medium, calcareous texture, with pebbles and dark ground fractions.

After the pressing process, the grapes ferment and remain on the skins for at least 14 days; repeated remixing, stripping and malolactic fermentation follow. Finally a long rest of 10 months in wood.

Notes of taste

The Olumbago Planeta’s coat is purple-violet with a marked saturation. The nose is dominated by complex aromas such as jasmine, incense and black truffle, but also more mild notes like blackberries and ripe plums. In the mouth you can taste all its softness, a sweet and seductive glass.

Wine at the table

The recommended combinations of Plumbago are with abundant seconds, grilled meats and smoked dishes followed by sauces.

Curiosity

The Plumbago is a beautiful wild flower that grows in the woods surrounding the estate Planeta of Menfi (AG).
