Terroir and wine-making

The Bell'Assai Donnafugata is a Vittoria DOC of great sharpness, an amazing wine with strong traces of the territory. In the territory of Acate, in South-Eastern Sicily, a Frappato comes to light with great freshness and soft tannins; it is born at an altitude not exceeding 150 meters above sea level, from sandy soils with medium-sized substrates and limestone tuffs. The fences with a spalier with pruning of the cordon are caressed by a temperate climate and summers by good temperature ranges between day and night. The harvest of mid-September starts the production process that involves a steel fermentation with maceration on the skins, an aging of 4 months in tank and at least 3 months in bottle.

Notes of taste

Donnafugata proposes in its Bell'Assai a ruby red glass with hints of violet and a nose with intense floral notes of rose and violet, surrounded by fruity scents. The taste is fresh and pleasant with soft tannins that distinguish its character among Sicilian wines.

Wine at the table

The ideal pairing at table is with traditional Mediterranean dishes, grilled vegetables, cold cuts and tuna sushi. To be served in a medium-sized glass, just uncorked.
