Terroir and vinification

The wine Eimí Tenute Lombardo is the result of a careful selection of Nero D'Avola grapes which grow near by Caltanissetta, 580m above sea level, in clayey soils of calcareous nature. The grapes are hand-picked around the second week of October. Vinification lasts 15 days in steel vats at the temperature of 25°C. Refinement happens in new wooden barriques for 12 months long, following 6 more months of aging in bottle. The recommended storage temperature is 16°C.

Nero d’Avola Eimí gives the best of itself when is the partner of red meats and seasoned cheeses, and its service temperature is 18°C.

Curiosities

Eimí Tenute Lombardo get its name from the greek and it means ‘I am’, as if claiming a leading role among the best Nero D'avola wines.
