Terroir and wine-making

Castello Romitorio grows the Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Petit Verdot grapes in the vineyards of Scansano, in the province of Siena. The terroir of Maremma is particularly suitable to enhance the organoleptic qualities of the vines, refined by vinification in French oak barrels for 14 months. Once bottled, the wine is ready to delight even the most demanding palates.

Notes of taste

In the glass Il Toro di Castello Romitorio shows an intense and compact ruby red color. Sweet fruity and floral aromas of rose invite to taste. On the palate, the wine reveals notes of ripe red fruits, sweet spices and balsamic herbs. With a remarkable tannic structure and a long and persistent finish, Il Toro di Castello Romitorio is appreciated to the full.

Wine at the table

A wine to enjoy in the company of important dishes such as an excellent grilled meat or a good aged cheese.

Curiosity

The Toro di Castello Romitorio is a wine indissolubly linked to the tradition of the Butteri of the Maremma. Its name evokes this deep connection with the territory and local culture.
