Terroir and wine-making

The Tenuta Regaleali di Tasca d'Almerita is located in the center of Sicily, at an altitude ranging from 450 to 900 meters above sea level; here winters are cold and summers characterized by strong thermal excursions. In these pedoclimatic conditions the grapes Nero d'Avola and Perricone ripen, which together with other red grapes carefully selected on the estate, represent the soul of this Sicilian red wine. Since 1970, Tasca d'Almerita has been experimenting with the best method of aging to express the qualities of such fine grapes: from large chestnut barrels we have moved on to large Slavonian oak barrels and finally choose French oak tanneaus and barriques.

Notes of taste

With a bright and brilliant ruby red color, the Rosso del Conte Tasca d'Almerita makes its entrance into the glass before indulging in the smell and enchant with notes of spices and licorice to which are added sweet fruity hints. Definitely conquers the palate with its extraordinary elegance and its harmony of freshness and softness. Leaves the palate with pomegranate hints.

Wine at the table

Hosting the Rosso del Conte County of Sclafani DOC at the table is a real pleasure. It is better to welcome with refined red meat dishes, roasts and cheeses of medium maturation. It accompanies deliciously the whole meal.

Curiosity

The Conte di Tasca d'Almerita Red wine was created by Count Giuseppe in 1970. It is the first Sicilian Single Vineyard.
