Terroir and wine-making

The Quater Vitis Rosso is the interesting result obtained from the blend of grapes grown in several vineyards owned by the winery, from one end of the Sicilian territory to the other and selected for the intrinsic qualities of the terroir. Nero d'Avola, Perricone and Frappato come from the estate of Pianoro Cuddìa in the west part of the island, while the Nerello Cappuccio grapes are born in their terroir of origin, Etna, at 680 meters above sea level. Four different vintages, therefore, and as many vinifications, separated to emphasize the individual peculiarities of the grapes, for a combination of unusual and interesting pleasure. The wines obtained mature each in American and French oak barrels for 10 months, before being assembled into a harmonious and intriguing blend.

Notes of taste

The Quater Vitis red takes on an intense ruby colour enriched with vivid violet reflections. Enchanting aromas of red and black fruits are accompanied by notes of chocolate, pepper and cloves; balsamic hints and mint complete a rich olfactory profile that invites with interest to taste. The latter shows a perfect balance between tannins and acid component.

Wine at the table

In culinary occasions that see the presence of meat dishes, the Quater Vitis Rosso is perfectly at ease: with its organoleptic qualities it creates a combination of flavors absolutely up to demanding guests.

Among the Firriato wines awarded with important international awards, the Quater Vitis Rosso has obtained the coveted '3 glasses' Gambero Rosso, '4 stars' Good Wines of Italy, '4 red grapes' Bibenda and other important awards that highlight its indisputable quality.
