Terroir and wine-making

The Turbiana and Chardonnay grapes used for the production of the Cuvée dei Frati sparkling wine are grown in the area of Lugana, where the terroir is particularly suitable for the cultivation of the vines with which the Cà dei Frati Metodo Classico sparkling wine is obtained. The wine rests for about 24 months on its lees and takes an excellent structure that elevates it among the best Italian brut sparkling wines.

Notes of taste

With its classic straw yellow colour and rich foam, the Cuvée dei Frati has a scent of hazelnut, tobacco and hay. On the palate it reveals an excellent acidity that balances with the remarkable structure for a surprising result. Its perlage is fine and persistent.

Wine at the table

A Metodo Classico Brut sparkling wine that can be enjoyed with pleasure during the aperitif or in combination with fish and white meat. It offers great satisfaction even in the company of cold cuts and cheeses.

Curiosity

The Lugana area has only revealed its potential in terms of terroir in recent years. The winery Cà dei Frati has played an important role in explaining the qualities inherent to the area beyond regional borders, with regard to wine production, so much so that the designation of origin has been recognised. In this particular terroir the Turbiana grapes grow in an ideal habitat to enhance their characteristics. From the meeting of this autochthonous grape - also known as Trebbiano di Lugana - and the versatile Chardonnay, the Cuvée dei Frati is born, a sparkling Metodo Classico Brut that has nothing to envy to the great Italians.
