Terroir and wine-making

This white wine Nerello Mascalese Etna DOC is an elegant expression of the terroir of Etna. Obtained according to the 'Blanc de Noir' method that enhances with refinement and style the qualities of the grapes, it is the result of a process that starts from the soft pressing of unscraped bunches and continues with controlled temperature fermentation and re-fermentation in bottle, The Classical Method. It refines its aromas in contact with the yeasts for more than 32 months. Firriato thus obtains a sparkling wine Etna DOC with remarkable organoleptic qualities.

Notes of taste

The straw yellow colour of the Firriato Gaudensius Blanc de Noir sparkling wine declines in the glass towards the bright gold. The bubbles give off intense and fruity aromas, typical of citrus fruits from Sicily, which leave room for notes of anise and mineral scents. It conquers the palate with a remarkable elegance and a complex flavor and good structure that is abandoned in a long finish of currant and almond.

Wine at the table

The right social occasions to host a bottle of Gaudensius Blanc de Noir are those of aperitif or meals based on fish dishes.

Curiosity

The sparkling wine Gaudensius Blanc de Noir Firriato is an example of how volcanic grapes, processed with care and method, are able to return bubbles appreciated by experts and connoisseurs. As a testament to this, this sparkling wine Metodo Classico Etna DOC boasts important awards such as the '90 points' Wine Enthusiast and the '4 stars' Vini Buoni d'Italia.
