The sparkling wine Firriato Gaudensius Blanc de Blancs is a Metodo Classico Brut obtained with Chardonnay and Carricante grapes: the first come from the estate of Borgo Guarini, in Trapani; while the autochthonous grapes grow on the volcanic soil of the suggestive estate of Cavanera Etnea. From the union of these precious fruits is born a highly expressive Sicilian sparkling wine.

Terroir and wine-making

In vineyards located in the IGT Sicilian Lands in two selected areas of Sicily, the Carricante and Chardonnay grapes that make up the blend of Gaudensius Blanc de Blancs are born. Firriato applies the Metodo Classico to produce a brut sparkling wine that represents the perfect synthesis of the two terroirs. The soft pressing of whole grapes is followed by a temperature controlled fermentation and a refermentation in bottle. The process ends with a 32-month bottle aging phase in the presence of yeasts that sets the organoleptic qualities.

Notes of taste

The sparkling wine Gaudensius Blanc de Blancs has a pale straw yellow color that tends to be golden. The intense and fruity bouquet is enriched with aromas of citrus, anise, currant and almond mineral notes that outline an elegant structure, savory and mineral. Persistent and elegant, on the palate shows all its richness of taste.
