Terroir and vinification Catarratto grapes represent the very soul of Bianco d'Altura Tenute Lombardo: this vine variety meets its ideal habit and it's able to release its best in this land from a mild climate. The vines place their roots in clay soil made of lime nature. The harvest of the grapes takes place mandatory hand-picked in the second half of September. Hence the fruits are stricly selected and vinificated in steel tanks at the controlled temperature 14°C. Refinement then takes place in steel tanks at the temperature 15°C and subsequently in the bottle at the temperature 16°C. Flavour Notes Bianco d’Altura shows on the chalice its characteristic white - pale yellow colour along with greenish reflex and releases a typical fragrance which reminds of white peaches. It seduces the palate with its fresh and sour taste and releases an aftertaste slightly bitter, belonging to Catarratto grapes. Wine on table Bianco d’Altura on table best pairs with starters, fish and all the delicate dishes. Its reccomanded service temperature is 10°C. Curiosity Bianco d’Altura by Tenute Lombardo gets its name from the sicilian altitudes that you can meet in the central zone of the island, where Catarratto grapes grow to make this lovely white wine.
