Terroir and wine-making

Ca' Dei Frati Lugana I Frati is an excellent interpretation of the Turbiana grape, also called Trebbiano di Lugana, an autochthonous variety grown in the renowned area of lower Garda, the Lugana DOC. Grapes from various plots undergo a fermentation in steel and partly malolactic. After that the wine is aged for 6 months in the presence of fine yeasts. I Frati Ca' dei Frati is excellent when consumed from the vintage, but it can express its best after a few years of aging in bottle. An exemplary Lugana Ca' dei Frati that offered a new interpretation of the Lombard name.

Notes of taste

With a straw yellow color, the wine Ca' dei Frati Lugana satisfies the taste with its freshness and elegance. The nose releases pleasant floral aromas of white flowers and fruity notes of apple, plum, apricot and citrus that slowly leave room for hints of spices, almond and candied fruit. On the palate it is confirmed fresh and enveloping with a lively acidity.

Wine at the table

Flexible and expressive, the Lugana I Frati is excellent as an aperitif wine and with fresh and delicate appetizers. It also goes perfectly with fish dishes.

Curiosity

The winery Ca' dei Frati understood before others the productive potential of the territory of Lugana and decided to produce its wines from 1939. Lugana Ca' dei Frati was the first label produced in the denomination, when the DOC had not yet been recognized. After that, thanks to the work of the Lombard family, the potential of the terroir spread beyond regional boundaries.
