Terroir and wine-making

Catarratto di Montagna grapes are the essence of Alcamo Classico DOC Vigna Casalj. The Tenuta Rapitalà selects every year the best grapes to be vinified, a process carried out limiting as much as possible the contact with oxygen in all phases, in order to preserve their aromas. The pressing is soft, the decantation is static in cold and fermentation takes place at low temperatures with selected yeasts. The wine is aged for 3 months in French oak barrels, as necessary to give Vigna Casalj its remarkable organoleptic qualities.

Notes of taste

The Vigna Casalj Tenuta Rapitalà is presented in the glass with its light golden yellow color. The nose releases particular Mediterranean aromas of sage, tomato leaf and caper flower. A round and satisfying wine with strong mineral notes and a remarkable freshness on the palate.

Wine at the table

The Alcamo Classico DOC Vigna Casalj enhances with its extraordinary taste all dishes of fish, crustaceans, risotto, soups and white meat.

Curiosity

The Vigna Casalj takes its name from the ancient name of the district where today the wine is produced. A document of 1340 testifies to a dispute for the possession of a particularly coveted feud in contrada 'Casalj Rabitallavi'. The same Estate Rapitalà had initially adopted the same name of the contrada.
